Separate three roles
Record the speaker, the central subject and other people mentioned. An interviewer's question is not the subject's first-person memory.
Keep a name map
List formal names, nicknames and who uses each one. Leave ambiguous matches unresolved until checked.
Fix the source first
Correct the transcript and relationship labels before updating stories, timelines and chapters. A surface-only book edit may disappear on regeneration.
Ask the person who knows
Marriage, illness, jobs and responsibility should be confirmed by the interviewee or family, not inferred by AI.
